Valencia CF will play the 53rd edition of the Trofeu Taronja on Saturday, August 9th (9:00pm CEST) at Mestalla, with Torino FC as the invited opponent.
The Italian side, one of the most historic and traditional teams in Serie A, has won the Italian league 7 times and the Coppa Italia 5 times.
This will be the second time they visit our stadium. In 1953, Torino FC were the chosen opponent for a friendly match in which Valencia CF won 4–1 and where the Valencian Football Federation awarded our legend Antonio Puchades the Medal for Sporting Merit.
In that match, as chroniclers of the time tell it, Faas Wilkes impressed the Valencia CF directors and would go on to become the Club’s first major international signing. Valencia CF and Torino FC also share the ‘Torino red’, the second most used colour in our history after white.
Stay tuned - tickets will be available online in the coming weeks.
